Robert Helfst earned his MFA in fiction writing from Butler University in 2017. While there, he completed a First Year Seminar Teaching Fellowship where he worked in a first-year composition course as well as an introductory creative writing course. He also holds a BA in Communication from the University of Indianapolis. His work has appeared in The River, BULL: Men’s Fiction, Necessary Fiction, and others. Robert lives in Indianapolis with his wife, son, daughter, three dogs, and three cats.
Professionally, Robert works as a Performance Marketing Manager for a life insurancy company. He has led introductory creative writing courses for the University of Indianapolis and works on a freelance basis as a content marketing strategist, writer, marketing consultant, editor, and ghostwriter.
